Superintendent's Message May 7, 2009 |
Dear Members of the Holmdel School Community, Highlights since our last board meeting: · Congressman Rush Holt spent the morning yesterday at Village School to pick up letters that the Village students wrote to President Obama. They will be hand delivered!
· Jacqueline
Peters, French/Spanish Teacher, reports that 15 Satz and High School
students were ranked in the top 20 places on the National French Exam in New
Jersey. Also, two students have been invited to the Prize Ceremony, “La
Remise des prix,” to be held at Rutgers University next month. Our HHS
student earned 3rd place, and our Satz student earned 4th
place in their levels, respectively.
· A
Satz student has been selected as a winner in the Monmouth Judiciary’s Law
Day 2009 Essay Contest.
· The
fourth and final meet of the New Jersey Science League was held recently at
Freehold Township High School. In true Holmdel style, our students swept
all six categories, taking first place in Bio I, Bio II, Chem I, Chem II,
Phys I and Phys II. Congratulations to all our students and their teachers
and also to our student who earned a perfect score in Physics II.
· On
April 24, the Holmdel Figure Skating Club competed in their final
competition of the year at the New Jersey High School Open at Princeton Day
School. Our skaters did an awesome job. Each member came home with at least
one first place win. Holmdel placed first in Monmouth County and third in
the state!
