What is Accreditation for Growth?
On behalf of the entire Holmdel High School community, we would like to
welcome you to the high school Accreditation for Growth (AFG) website.
The
Holmdel High School community has been preparing for the upcoming Middle
States visitation for accreditation. The mission of the Middle States
Commission on Secondary Schools is:
The Middle States
Commission on Secondary Schools (MSCSS), the premier American regional
accreditation agency, is the leader in ensuring that all students in its
region receive the highest quality of education and achieve at levels
expected by society. Through its accreditation and school improvement
services, MSCSS recognizes excellence in educational quality, planning,
and growth in student performance and provides the means to meet
rigorous standards of educational quality.
Since the 2006-2007 school year, students, faculty, and parents have
been involved in the planning of our vision and mission for the next
seven years. The AFG Planning Team which consists of students, parents,
teachers, and administrators surveyed over 700 students, 85 staff
members, and 85 parents during a self study process on twelve academic
standards. From this data, specific school objectives were formed and
action plans were developed to track our progress towards these school
objectives.
Please click on the other links to view our two objectives and also to
see the specific action plans that will be implemented over the next
seven years.
We eagerly anticipate the Middle States visit from October 20th
through the 23rd and look forward to achieving our goals and
reaffirming Holmdel’s commitment to excellence.
