Accreditation for Growth (AFG) Belief Statement

We believe that:

  1. teaching students how to learn provides the foundation for life-long learning in rapidly changing world.

  2. students’ active involvement in their own learning is a key to student achievement.

  3. all children deserve the opportunity to fulfill and exceed their potential in a  safe and  nurturing learning environment.

  4. risk-taking, a willingness to change and a commitment to continuous improvement, and a collaborative decision-making approach are essential in a successful learning environment.

  5. knowledge empowers individuals.

  6. the equitable allocation of resources advances the goals of our learning community, respecting and embracing cultural diversity and cultivating individuality enhances the educational experience.
  1. education is a shared responsibility of the entire learning community, including parents, teachers, students and administration

  2. character education is integral to the development of positive self-esteem, which in turn encourages positive growth.
