Checking your spelling with Google Docs

Google Docs has a built-in spelling checker. 

REMEMBER: Just because the computer thinks it isn't correct doesn't necessarily mean it really isn't correct.

  1. Open your document.

  2. Go to the "View" menu.

  3. Make sure "Show spelling suggestions" has a check mark next to it.

  4. Any words that are underlined with a red squiggle are thought by Google to be misspelled.

  5. To see alternatives, right-click on the underlined word. A list should appear.

  6. To choose one of the offered alternatives, move your mouse over the choice you like, then click.

  7. The misspelled word will be replaced by your choice.
