Imperative Sentence
Ø Imperative – Gives a command – ends with either a period (.) or an exclamation point (!)
Jimmy, give me a beat.
Go to the store, but be quick about it!
Even though you already gave Tom a warning, write him up again.
If you're happy, and you know it, clap your hands!
An imperative sentence can be any one of the four types of sentence.
You CANNOT have a one-word sentence EXCEPT if you are giving a command to (you [understood]).
Jump! Run! Duck! Stop. Sit.
(The person receiving the command [the subject of the sentence] is understood to be “You”.)
