Go to www.bubbabrain.com and click on any level  on the left hand side.  It will bring you to a list of subject areas that you can choose from.  Once you make your choice, click on Submit at the bottom of the list.  An interactive review quiz will pop up.  For example, in the Elementary section, you can choose a particular multiplication table for students to review through the little quiz game.  there is something for all grade levels, K-12, including AP level resources. If you register with your school email address (by emailing the site), you will be given a password so you can customize and put in your own review work.  It's great for facts, vocabulary, history, math etc.

Read, Write, Think - This site contains several lesson plans and ideas for literature and writing exercises. Interesting activities listed: Alliteration in Headline Poems and Avalanche, Aztek or Bravada ? This is a connotation mini lesson that takes 50 minutes and is perfect for 8th grade differentiation. It takes time to search the database, but it is well worth the effort.

Favorite Poem Project - This video site has ordinary people reading a poem and discussing that poem.  It is necessary to review the videos carefully before using them. Some are not appropriate for middle school.

St. Martin's Press - This site is terrific for allowing students to work independently on interactive lessons. One suggested activity: The Elements of Poetry section which provides definitions, examples and exercises that address Standard I, Grade 7.

Themes and Literature Circles - This web project will help make the connection between theory and practice by exploring some online resources related to literacy, themes, literature circles, technology and learning. This site is rich with activities and suggestions. Check out the web quests for middle school students. Titles, such as The Outsiders, Pigman, Roll of Thunder, Hear me Cry, Diary of Anne Frank and Charlotte Doyle are included.

Web English Teacher - This comprehensive site contains links to lesson plans and ideas for literature and writing exercises, drama, poetry, speech and many other language arts topics

Wired for Books - This site has a listening resource that will read aloud Dickens’ A Christmas Carol .This site is good for auditory learners. It contains many books on tape which can be played in the classroom, without any cost to us. this site also includes essay questions, study questions and quizzes.

Scholastic - Go to the Lewis and Clark site. It is interactive in a number of ways. It includes text, maps, time-lines, and primary sources of explorers’ journals. It connects to literature unit of reading Streams to the River, River to the Sea, etc. It connects to the language arts curriculum of keeping journals.
