Keys to a Good Presentation
- Be familiar with your material
- Practice!
- Make eye contact
- Pay attention to the entire audience
- Have good posture – stand up, hands not
in pockets
- Don’t block your face if reading
- Try not to just read
- Use index cards if necessary
- Appear calm –
- No “pee-pee dance”
- Try not to quiver
- Try not to say “Um” or “like” or other
fillers
- Smile (if appropriate)
- Use your voice to help your presentation
- Be LOUD!
- Speak clearly
- Don’t talk too fast
- Read expressively –
- Use lots of emotion
- Create mood with your voice and body
language
- Use appropriate motions
- Get the audience to be actively involved
in your presentation
- Ask questions
- Have objects or surveys to pass around
- Involve the audience
- Get volunteers to assist you
- Use props (if appropriate)
- Have visuals (posters, pictures, charts,
or other things for the audience to look at)
- Have an identifiable end
