Holmdel High School brings the classic story of LITTLE WOMEN to the stage

 

HOLMDEL, NJ - February 23, 2024 - Step into the enchanting world of Little Women: The Broadway Musical a captivating stage production that brings Louisa May Alcott's timeless classic to life with a blend of music, drama, and heartwarming storytelling. This musical adaptation weaves the cherished tale of the March sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy – as they navigate the trials and triumphs of coming of age during the Civil War era. Filled with memorable songs and classic characters, Little Women promises an unforgettable night at the theatre for audiences of all ages. Join us on a journey of sisterhood, love, and self-discovery in this evocative and uplifting musical celebration.

 

The show features a cast, crew, and orchestra of over 40 students across grade levels at Holmdel High School featuring seniors Gabriela Postigo (Marmee), Nicole DiBlasi (Jo), Katie Bauer (Meg), Caroline Liedel (Amy), Jay Zurovchak (Ensemble) and Julia King (Production Stage Manager) in their final musical production with the HTG. Rounding out the cast are Sofina Perez (Beth), Cooper Bilsland (Laurie), Mark Moitoso (Professor Bhaer), Jones Almeida (Mr. Brooke), Rocco Impreveduto (Mr. Laurence), Zainah Allan (Aunt March), and Gabby Truett (Mrs. Parrot / Mrs. Kirk). Members of the ensemble include Annika Raj, Julia Mooney, Sofia Primiano, Adrian Cardinoza, Owen Beland, Tatiana Miele-DiFabio, Hailey Aquilano, Julia McAulay, Samantha Ayers, Valentina Cucolo, Aidan Carscadden, Valerie Khalil, and Jenna Yiu.

 

LIttle Women is perfect for Holmdel this year because we have 5 outstanding vocalists portraying the March family, as well as a lot of talent in the supporting and ensemble roles; it will be a great show,” said Cooper Bilsland (junior). HTG Student Board members Rocco Impreveduto and Valerie Khalil, both juniors, added respectively, “Little Women has been such a different experience for the HTG and I have enjoyed the challenge and excitement this show has brought to me and the rest of the cast” and “[this show] is going to be a huge hit and we are really enjoying working on it. So far it has been a great experience for the cast, and we can’t wait to bring that same great experience to the audience!”

 

The HTG winter musical is a collaboration among the performing arts teachers at Holmdel High School. Joining Dr. DeVivo (director) are Ms. Katrina Roberts (vocal director), Mrs. Shannon Mannuccia (choreographer), and Dr. Christie Riso (orchestra director). Stage crew is directed by Mr. Bill Szilasi (technical advisor).

 

Little Women is presented through special arrangement with and all authorized performance materials are supplied by Musical Theatre International (www.mtishows.com). The show will be presented on March 14, 15, 16 at 7:00 pm in the Holmdel High School auditorium. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, and $5 for students. Seating is general admission & tickets are sold at the door only.

 

The Holmdel Theatre Guild is a student theatre company at Holmdel High School that produces three shows each school year: a fall play, winter musical, and spring one-acts.
