All Shore Intermediate Band

Congratulations to our Satz All Shore intermediate band musicians, Emma Purcell (clarinet), Hans Singhofen (alto sax), and Johanna Kang (flute), on a beautiful concert last night.  Special congratulations to Hans Singhofen who won the prestigious John Carr Memorial Award for Outstanding Musicianship, cooperative attitude and superior effort.  What a great accomplishment!  Hans is the second Satz student in  the last three years to win this award. Satz school is honored to acknowledge that within the past three years at All Shore Intermediate Band we’ve had a Satz student win a prestigious award. [Flutist Renee Whittemore won the John Carr award in 2022, Dave Liu, flutist, was awarded the Richard B. Frankle in 2023, and Hans has now won the John Car award for 2024]  All Shore was founded in 1958 and is a select ensemble composed of students from Monmouth and Ocean Counties.  The focus of the group is to ‘ raise the caliber of music performance, challenge exceptional band musicians, encourage the performance of quality band music, encourage the membership to continue to improve its professional status as musicians and educators,  promote a spirit of cooperation and fellowship among music educators in the area, and to stimulate wider public interest in music education’.   Auditions take place in November and selected students will rehearse twice a week to prepare for the concert in January.

CJMEA All Region Orchestra

Congratulations to Anabelle Cho and Simon Zhang for being selected for Central Jersey Music Educators Association All Region Intermediate Orchestra!  Special congratulations to Simon Zhang for being ranked top 5 in violin!  CJMEA Region Orchestra serves the counties of Hunterdon, Monmouth, Mercer, Somerset, Middlesex and Union.  They are an affiliate of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).  Over 600 students auditioned last weekend for the prestigious ensembles and two of our Satz students were accepted for intermediate orchestra!  They will be rehearsing once a week to prepare for their concert on March 10th. https://www.cjmea.org/ Sehttps://www.cjmea.org/r
