Holmdel School District Hosts 2nd Annual Transition Fair For Special Needs Students

HOLMDEL SCHOOL DISTRICT HOSTS 2ND ANNUAL TRANSITION FAIR FOR SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENTS

Holmdel Public Schools is delighted to announce the 2nd Annual Transition Fair for students with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This event will take place on May 3, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM in the Main Atrium at Bell Works.

Continuing our commitment to diversity and inclusion, Amanda Lamoglia, Holmdel Schools Director of Special Services, stated, "Following the success of last year's inaugural fair, we are excited to bring even more resources and opportunities to our students and families to aid in their transition to independent adult living."

The fair will feature a variety of organizations and agencies that provide essential support in areas such as independent living, recreation, and higher education, tailored specifically for individuals with IDD. Community groups dedicated to building local resources will also be present.

Dr. Cascone highlights the district's enthusiasm for making this an annual event: "This fair is a critical opportunity for our special needs students as they prepare for their future," he remarked.

Over 35 vendors will attend, including employers, transportation services, healthcare providers, and educational programs. The event is designed for students aged 14-21 and their parents, who are encouraged to participate and engage with the available resources.
