Dear Holmdel Township School Community,

I hope this finds you well. Goal number three of the board-approved 2025–26 district goals is to design and launch an online Parent University platform that provides families with accessible, high-quality resources to support student learning, well-being, and home–school partnership. In advancement of this goal, I am excited to announce the launch of the first module of our online Parent University, which is dedicated exclusively to providing resources for parents on Parenting in the Digital Age.

Our district has launched a partnership with The Social Institute (TSI), a leader in empowering students, families, and educators to navigate their learning and well-being, including A.I., social media, and devices, in healthy ways.

No matter your child’s current tech use, whether they use devices and apps regularly or are just beginning to ask questions, the resources offered through this partnership are designed to be flexible and family-friendly.

Getting Started

Register your free account for The Toolkit. Many families refer to this as the CliffsNotes of social media and technology!

  • Go to Toolkit, click Activate Account, and enter our school district code: 55b5197A69096D
  • On the course page, select "Enroll for Free".
  • Create an account by entering your email and setting a password.

Course Offerings:

-Diving Deeper into the Apps Students Use

-Using Tech to Control Tech: Strong Settings for Apps and Devices

-From Helicopter to Huddling: How to Talk with Our Children About Social Media and Tech

-Helping Your Family Navigate Social Media and Tech in Healthy, High-Character Ways

-Co-Creating Family Standards for Positive Tech Use

Once enrolled, courses will be available on your Thinkific dashboard anytime you log in.
These courses are designed to be self-paced and can be completed on your own schedule. We encourage all families to complete the courses.

The district is honored to be your partner on this journey. We understand that each household has its own values and approach to technology, and we fully respect that. This programming is not about prescribing rules or parenting strategies. It’s about offering ideas and tools that you can use in whatever way fits your family best.

Sincerely,
Dr. Cascone

News from our ECO Club

We are pleased to share that the Holmdel High School Eco Club is partnering with the Holmdel Township Green Team to recognize October as Energy Awareness Month! As part of this initiative, students have developed an anti-idling campaign to spotlight the environmental and energy impacts of unnecessary vehicle idling.
Weather permitting, on October 31st, Eco Club students and community volunteers will be present during afternoon dismissal to distribute informational brochures and share QR codes where drivers can quickly sign an anti-idling pledge while waiting in the car line. We invite you to support their efforts by signing the pledge and turning off your engine while you wait to pick up your child — a simple action that makes a meaningful difference.

Thank you for helping our students lead positive change in our community!

Holmdel Celebrates Homecoming with Spirit and Success

Last Friday, Holmdel High School celebrated Homecoming with school spirit, music, and athletics. Jack Cannon and Sophia Biella were crowned King and Queen, joining Olivia Dubin, Isabella Spicer, Madeline Tuccillo, Christopher Hall, Ethan Sankpal, and Francesco Zappia on the Homecoming Court.

The football team secured a victory, finishing the regular season 6-2, 2nd in the Top Shore Conference, and first seed for Round 1 of the state playoffs this Friday at 7:00 PM.

Fans also enjoyed performances from the dance and cheer teams as well as the pep band, making it a spirited evening to remember.

HHS Musicians Make Prestigious Ensemble

Congratulations to Pranav Deshpande, Jesse Burden, Keoni Baheti, and Charlotte Stanislawczyk for being accepted into TCNJ’s highly selective Honors Wind Ensemble program!

This year, the program received over 300 nominations from nearly 50 high schools across the region and selected only 150 students to participate.

The TCNJ Honors Wind Ensemble will take place on Sunday, November 16, and Sunday, November 23, 2025, on TCNJ’s beautiful campus. The event will bring together some of the region’s top high school band students for an exciting musical experience. In addition to performing in the concert hall, students will attend masterclasses with TCNJ faculty and have the opportunity to explore the campus.

The concert will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, in the Kendall Mainstage Theater and is free, open to the public, and no tickets are required.

HHS Frosh Shines at Rowan University’s Saxophone Day

Holmdel High School freshman Jesse Burden recently took part in Rowan University’s Saxophone Day, an immersive event that brought together talented young musicians for a day of learning, performance, and collaboration.

During the event, Jesse and the saxophone ensemble performed three selections—Nimrod, Pure Imagination, and Washington Post—and enjoyed the opportunity to hear a recital by guest artist Kyle Hutchins from the Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts.

Participants also took part in a hands-on session with instruments and equipment provided by Cole’s Music. Jesse also attended a masterclass led by Noa Evens, Head of Woodwinds at Rowan University. The day concluded with a lively concert featuring both the student saxophone ensemble and Rowan’s own group, “The Glass Saxes.”

This experience was a wonderful opportunity for Jesse to grow as a musician while connecting with university-level faculty and performers.

Indian Hill Entrepreneur Club to Host Holiday Market

Indian Hill School's Entrepreneur Club Holiday Market will take place on Thursday, December 4th, from 5:30-7 pm in the beautiful Bell Works atrium.

Join students, families, teachers, and community members for what is sure to be the event of the season! Last year's club event drew hundreds of people to the venue as local Holmdel club members in grades 4-6 sold their handmade products and goods. This inaugural Market Day event raised over $8,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and brought the entire community together for a great cause.

This year, we are looking forward to an Entrepreneur Fair with a new twist, offering handcrafted gifts, trending kid-inspired products, and delicious homemade treats just in time for the holiday season.

Save the date: Thursday, December 4th, 5:30-7:30 pm at Bell Works. You don't want to miss it!

Harassment, Intimidation & Bullying FAQ

As part of the district's ongoing commitment to student safety and well-being, Holmdel Public Schools has completed its annual review of district practices and protocols related to the Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) statute and board policy.

To assist families in understanding these policies and navigating the law if the need arises, the district administration has created a helpful Parent FAQ document. This resource provides clear guidance on reporting procedures, definitions, and the support available to students and families.

We encourage all parents and guardians to review the FAQ to better understand Holmdel’s procedures for promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive school environment.

Holmdel Celebrates Second Annual Heritage Day

The Holmdel community came together yesterday for the Second Annual Holmdel Heritage Day, a vibrant celebration of the diversity and richness that make the township so special. Local and state dignitaries joined residents to honor the cultures, traditions, and shared values that strengthen the community.

A special acknowledgment goes to Chiung-Yin Liu, Chairman of the Planning Committee, and Deputy Mayor Kim LaMountain, who played central roles in organizing the event.

Recognition is also due to the many volunteers, including Holmdel High School students, event sponsors, performers, and district custodial staff, whose dedication helped make the day a success.

Heritage Day serves as more than just a celebration; it is a testament to the strength, unity, and generosity of the Holmdel community. Residents of all ages came together to connect, learn, and enjoy one another’s company, showcasing the incredible diversity that enriches the town.

The event highlighted the power of community, culture, and connection, leaving attendees inspired and proud to be part of Holmdel.
