Holmdel High School Unveils Newly Renovated Strength and Conditioning Facility
Community fundraising effort provides students with a modern, state-of-the-art space to support fitness, athletics, and well-being
HOLMDEL, NJ — August 28, 2026 — The Holmdel Township School District celebrated the unveiling of its newly renovated strength and conditioning facility at Holmdel High School with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, August 25.
The newly renovated facility features modern flooring, new weight racks and weights, medicine balls, and other fitness and training equipment. The space will serve Holmdel High School athletic teams while also providing opportunities for students to focus on strength, conditioning, and physical fitness through physical education classes.
The project was made possible through the generosity of local families, businesses, and community supporters. Anthony A. Libecci and T.J. Fletcher worked together to secure donations for the project, with the Holmdel Touchdown Club serving as the conduit through which the donations were collected and directed toward the renovation.
“This is something we are so happy to give back to our students, who are so deserving after the amazing accomplishments we have seen from the Holmdel High School sports community,” said Anthony A. Libecci, Board member of the Holmdel Football Association and Holmdel Board of Education Member. “They deserve a place they can be proud of when they are bettering themselves physically, as well as a space for any student who simply wants to work on their
physical fitness.”
Libecci added, “This is a step in the right direction in terms of the type of sponsorship and fundraising we can do with the private sector not only to help Holmdel stay up to date, but also to help save our taxpayers in the future. Special thanks again to David Delvecchio and Premier Health Group for their Platinum sponsorship. Without their support, this would not have gotten done.”
A Community Investment in Students
The ribbon-cutting brought together students, coaches, administrators, district staff, community leaders, and project supporters to celebrate the completion of the facility.
Buildings and Grounds Team Completes Project on Aggressive Timeline
The district extends special recognition to Director of Buildings and Grounds Ken Stromsland, Maintenance Foreman Matt DiBlasi, and the entire Buildings and Grounds team for their extraordinary efforts in completing the renovation.
District staff installed the new flooring, removed the previous weight equipment, assembled the new racks and equipment, and organized and installed the new weights and training equipment.
The work was completed within an exceptionally short timeframe while the Buildings and Grounds Department was simultaneously managing a full summer schedule of maintenance, repairs, and other capital and facilities projects.
“The success of this project is a great example of what can happen when our community, private partners, and school district work together with a common purpose,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. J. Scott Cascone. “Most importantly, our students are the beneficiaries. They now have a clean, safe, modern facility where they can pursue their fitness goals, prepare for competition, and develop healthy habits that extend well beyond their years in high school.”
Thank You to Our Community Donors
The Holmdel Township School District extends its sincere appreciation to all of the families, businesses, organizations, and individuals whose generosity made the renovation possible.
