Student Charge Meal Procedure
The school district shall not provide student meals or snacks on a credit basis except as noted herein.
Snack and ala carte items will not be charged at any time. Snack and ala carte items will not be permitted to be purchased while the account is in arrears.
Students may receive the equivalent of three standard paid lunches on a temporary-credit basis. After receiving these meals, in the absence of payment of the full account balance, students will receive an alternative meal consisting of a cheese sandwich with milk, fruit and vegetables at a reduced price of $1.50 for a limited period of time.
Parents / guardians are responsible for monitoring the amount of money in their students’ accounts and for paying balances due in a timely manner. As per the new state legislation, parents will have up to 10 days to pay any negative balance in full. The food service department will send the parent / guardian a negative balance letter as to the monies owed on a weekly basis. If payment is not received within the 10 days, the food service department will notify the district of accounts in arrears.
